  • Key member of 8-person global Executive Management team

  • Responsibilities:

    • Day-to-day leadership and development of a 40+ person team based in the U.S. and all operations pertaining to the San Francisco office.

    • Americas P+L, which generated $100+ million in GMV in 2020 with an annual growth of 100%. Key markets include U.S., Canada and Brazil, which is Vivino’s third largest market in terms of downloads.

    • Understand local competitor strategies and approach as well as cultural nuances and legislation issues that may impact the business.

    • Manage human resource-related issues including recruitment, performance management, salary administration, training and development and coach department heads as needed.

    • Create and maintain a positive environment, address employee concerns, facilitate team development, and implement training and development initiatives.

    • Serve as bridge between Americas team members and global team, ensuring synergy across offices.

​

  • Years of Experience:  15+

  • People / Leadership:  Individual must be a strong manager and culture leader.

  • Industry Experience:  Consumer e-commerce or marketplace. Wine industry is a plus, not required.

​

  • P&L / Budget Experience:  $100MM+ P&L experience ideal.

 

  • Domestic / International Experience:  Nice to have, not required.

​ 

  • Travel Required / Percentage / Locations:  Americas region (2-4 times per year), Copenhagen HQ (1-2 times per year).

 

  • Culture of Company / Work-Life Balance:  European roots, global company.  Good work/life balance with a demanding, yet work-efficiently mentality.  Get it done attitude with a flexible work environment.

 

  • Personality Traits of Candidate:  An engaging personality that is a leader in the office, creates strong relationships and has the presence to engage with the Board of Directors. Emotionally intelligent individual that leads by example.  An individual that works well with the team of executives and focuses on the end game.  Strategic by nature, analytical by nature.  Identifies the core issue and solves the problem.  A player / coach that can lead the team, but also roll up the sleeves and jump into the details, when needed.  An individual focused on the long game -- creating processes and systems that scale with the growth of the company.  An individual that works well with little direction, in an ambiguous startup environment, that can build clarity where none previously existed.
